What happens to your data.
Hallengren’s is one person, Henrik Hallengren, and a trading name of Strategic Design France SARL, which is responsible for your data. You write to me about it: henrik@hallengrens.com. Company details are on the legal page.
The newsletter
If you sign up under an article, I keep your name and email address and when you signed up. You get one email per new article. You stay on the list until you unsubscribe, by replying to any of them or with the link in the email. The basis is your consent.
Booking a conversation
If you book 30 minutes, I keep your name, email, the time you picked, what the call is about and anything you write in the note. It goes into my calendar and my inbox so the meeting can happen. The basis is that you asked for it. I keep it as long as it’s useful for our contact, and delete it if you ask.
The Lenswork Method toolkit
If you ask for the toolkit, I keep your email address, when you asked, whether you opened the link, and your answers to the two optional boxes. Without a ticked box, the address is deleted after three months. The full details are on the toolkit’s own page.
If you asked for the toolkit and ticked neither box, I may write to you once, personally, to ask how it went and whether you’d like the newsletter. Not an automated sequence, and nothing more if you don’t answer.
If you write to me, I keep the conversation as any business keeps its email. Ask me to delete it and I will, unless I have to keep it for accounting or legal reasons.
The site itself
I count visits with Umami, an analytics tool I run on my own server. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you; I see numbers per page, not people. Like every web server, mine logs IP addresses for security. Those logs are deleted after 14 days.
The only cookie on the site is the one that lets your browser back into the toolkit after you’ve opened the link from the email. It is needed for that and nothing else.
Who sees it, and where it lives
Me. It is never sold or shared. Everything runs on a server I rent from Amazon Web Services (Lightsail) in their Paris region, and email goes out through Amazon’s sending service in the same region. The data stays in the EU. Amazon processes it only on my instructions, under its data processing terms.
Your rights
You can ask to see what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, limit or object to how I use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw a consent at any time. Write to henrik@hallengrens.com and I’ll answer within a month. If you think I’ve handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or to the authority where you live.
